Everton star Richarlison injured after X-rated tackle from rival Manchester United

Richarlison is confident he will be fit to face Fulham and make a first appearance at Everton in more than a month. The 23-year-old was the subject of an X-rated challenge from Manchester United striker Edison Cavani on Tuesday night.

A VAR review has ruled that Cavani should be sent off for the stamp on Richarlison’s ankle as Brazil faces Uruguay in a World Cup qualifier in Montevideo.

Richarlison expects to be in good shape for the trip to Craven Cottage on Sunday, despite the challenge.

The forward has missed Everton’s last three games due to his suspension, but was hopeful the forced layoff would allow him to return to the club in great shape, after an ankle injury held him back since the end of September.

Richarlison was not 100% fit when he played in the Merseyside derby on October 17th. The £ 35million man was sent off in the last minute for a lunge over Liverpool midfielder Thiago.

But despite being the target of a crass challenge on Tuesday night, he remains confident he will be fit to play in West London on Sunday.

Richarlison is due to return to the Finch Farm club training ground within the next 24-36 hours.
