Egyptian and French naval forces carried out maritime exercises in the Mediterranean Sea on Tuesday, Egyptian armed forces said in a statement.

“The Egyptian frigate Taba and the French frigate Jean Bart participated in the exercise,” said Tamer al-Refai, spokesman for the Egyptian army.

The exercises, aimed at exchanging naval experiences, focused on methods of organizing cooperation to implement combat missions against hostile naval formations as well as on engagement with surface and air targets.

The joint activities reflected the high combat skills of both sides, he added.

Egypt regularly organizes joint military exercises with other countries to strengthen military collaboration and exchange military expertise.
