Covid-19 Northern Ireland: 14 other deaths linked to Covid-19 recorded by the Department of Health


There have been 14 other deaths linked to Covid-19 in Northern Ireland, including 10 in the past 24 hours, according to the Department of Health.The department’s daily dashboard shows that there were 331 positive tests in the past day, with 3,831 people contracting the virus last week.

The death toll in Northern Ireland from the virus now stands at 869, according to the DoH.

Since the start of the epidemic, 47,162 people have tested positive for Covid-19.

Belfast has seen the most new infections in the past seven days, with 696, followed by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon ​​with 544, and Causeway, Coast and Glens with 451.

People aged 20 to 39 had the most positive tests over the past week, with 1,267, followed by those aged 40 to 59 with 1,199.

There are currently 427 hospital patients with the virus and 45 patients are in intensive care and 37 are using ventilators.

There are 21 unoccupied intensive care beds in Northern Ireland and 127 unoccupied general beds.

To date, 538,313 people have been tested for the coronavirus.
