“I had it earlier this year, and I didn’t feel like that,” he admitted, before listing his previous symptoms.

“It wasn’t particularly sharp, I just lost my sense of taste and smell for about 10 days and got a little tired. It looks very, very different. It looks a lot more like the flu.

Hunnam told Kimmel that he caught the virus “very early” in the pandemic, so there wasn’t a lot of information regarding his defining symptoms.

The virus ‘”famous loss of’ sense of taste and smell” had not “really emerged as a symptom of mild COVID.”

While not sure what his current illness may be, Charlie said he would be really surprised if he happened to contract COVID-19 for the second time.

“I don’t know how I would have gotten sick, again, because I haven’t left the house for six months, other than taking my new cat to the vet,” he explained, adding that he and her partner had recently “saved” this kitten.

Hunnam noted that the “delicious irony” of being able to contract COVID-19 again is that he is a notorious “germaphobe” and has always been the type to constantly wash his hands and so on.

“If there’s something floating around, I’ll get it. And I think it’s because I’m a germaphobe! I just have a very weak immune system, ”he says.

Charlie’s latest film Jungleland, directed by Max Winkler, will be released on VOD and in select theaters next Tuesday.

The film centers on a “reluctant bare-handed boxer,” played by Jack O’Connell, and “his manager brother,” played by Hunnam, and their journey across the country to participate in their final fight.

But the journey, along with an “unexpected travel companion,” unexpectedly exposes “the cracks in their bond.”
