‘Black Panther 2’ won’t use digital doubles for Chadwick Boseman – Deadline

Black Panther Executive producer Victoria Alonso has said the sequel to the hit action film will not use a digital dub for the late Chadwick Boseman, who played the title role in the first film. The MCU producer strongly denied the supposed digital appearance in an interview with Argentine newspaper Clarín.

” No. There is only one Chadwick, and he is no longer with us. Sadly our king has died in real life, not just in fiction, and we take some time to see how we continue the story and how to honor this chapter of what happened to us unexpectedly, so painfully and terrible to be honest, ”Alonso said. “Chadwick was not only a wonderful human being, every day of the 5 years we spent together, but also, I believe, what he did as a character uplifted us as a company and left its moment in history.

Black Panther 2 is set to begin filming in early 2021, with a debut scheduled for 2022. Ryan Coogler is back as writer and director of the sequel.

“I know that sometimes in productions, 2 or 3 months go by and they say that too much time has passed. But that’s not too much time. We really have to think about what we’re going to do next and how. And decide how we’re going to honor the franchise, ”Alonso said.
