First Lady Melania Trump is not expected to make any public statements or comments today, neither in support of her husband’s efforts to challenge Joe Biden’s victory, nor to recognize Biden’s victory, a White House official told CNN.
Behind the scenes, she “kept to herself” and did not engage in any strategy sessions with other members of the Trump family or senior administration officials, a source told current on Trump’s activities on CNN.
Trump has not been heard publicly since Tuesday morning when she voted in Florida, telling reporters she felt “good.” As she appeared with President Trump during his remarks on election night in the East Room, she said nothing.
The first lady is currently in the White House, according to the official.
The first lady tweeted about “Be Best” on Friday in a post unrelated to the election. Unlike her stepchildren and her husband, Trump hasn’t said anything or said publicly about the election, which is remarkable for a first lady.
