It takes magic to keep this hat from falling off his head. The magic of the holidays.

This weekend may have lit us up at the end of a long tunnel, but that doesn’t change the fact that 2020 sucked. Fortunately, Lil Nas X is there to warm up our season with a Back to the future III meets Santa tribute with none other than Michael J. Fox himself.

The artist behind “Old Town Road” and “PaniniHas released a trailer for his latest single, “Holiday,” which promises to bring that party spirit that many of us have been looking for for months.

Given all the shit we’ve been through in 2020, as well as how the rest of the year is likely to take shape, what about the last few? coronavirus case peaks and the fact that Trump still refuses to admit he lost the election“We need a little joy to end the rest of the year. Here’s a clip from the music video – featuring that Fox cameo – slated for release Friday.

Set in the Old West (clearly a nod to his shattering “Old Town Road” debut), the music video sees Lil Nas X take on the Santa Claus mantle from his drunken predecessor. With his tiny glasses and a sled that is clearly capable of time traveling, the musician is about to move around the world giving gifts to all the good kids. But as Back to the future III-esque Fox warns: Make sure you avoid 2020. A lesson we can all take to heart once this year is over.

“Holiday” is slated for release on Friday – we’ll be keeping an eye out to see if the rest of the video is as wild as this teaser. In the meantime, Mariah Carey has given her blessing for us to start listening to “All I want for Christmas is you,” so I suggest we take that to heart.
