Well, the cover certainly got a lot of people talking – including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
In a question-and-answer session on her Instagram page on Saturday night, AOC was asked about the cover – and her response didn’t disappoint.
“It looks wonderful. The masculine and feminine elements are beautifully balanced – the style of the hair and the jacket also gave me the vibe of James Dean, ”his response began.
“Maybe for some people it causes insecurity around masculinity / femininity / etc. If so, then maybe that’s part of the point. he. “
AOC then shared a post to acknowledge the historical context and “the under-recognized role of trans women of color”.
