AEW announces video game and mobile GM game


AEW has officially announced that it is developing its very first console game with Japanese developer Yuke’s.

The announcement was made during the AEW Games special event on Tuesday, November 10, live on YouTube.

The presentation video was hosted by Kenny Omega, dressed in Steve Jobs style as he presented a video on the history of the company.

Omega went on to say that he applied to be part of AEW’s gaming division when he signed with the company and helped develop the video game wrestling fans wanted.

He then presented footage from the match, showing himself and Chris Jericho in the ring, as well as AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida.

Yuke’s, who works with AEW on console gaming, is best known for creating WWE video games until WWE 2K19.

AEW also announced a mobile game, launching in 2021, presented by referee Aubrey Edwards. Titled Managing Director AEW Elite, this will allow fans to book their own dream matches.

In the game, fans take on the role of GM, crafting a roster of wrestlers, hosting matches, and running the show to generate income, new fans, and effects on wrestlers’ stamina and morale.

There was also the official announcement of a second mobile game, AEW Casino Double or Nothing, which will be launched this winter.

AEW has only been around since January 2019 and the company has already made massive waves in the wrestling world, rivaling WWE.

Last month EVP Cody Rhodes shared data about the company’s UK viewing figures, showing that AEW was building a strong fan base in the UK.

And earlier this month he spoke to Digital spy Regarding AEW’s presence in the UK, promising things will only get bigger and better in 2021. He also said the company would be ready to host shows in the UK as soon as possible.

“When the world opens up again, we’ll absolutely be in the UK,” Cody said. “I don’t think for a single show.

“There are too many markets and you haven’t wrestled, you are not a wrestler, in my opinion, until you have wrestled in front of the British crowd. There is no such thing, they go in a different way and they go very special way. “

AEW Dynamite airs Thursdays at 1 a.m. on Fite TV in the UK and Fridays at 11 p.m. on ITV4.
