ABC News to Air a Primetime Special Tonight on Alex Trebek – Deadline


ABC News will air a one-hour prime-time special this evening on the life and legacy of Alex Trebek, the iconic “Jeopardy!” TV host. passed away earlier today.Alex Trebek, in the memories: a special 20/20 hosted by Chris Connelly of ABC News airing tonight at 10 p.m. on ABC Television Network.

In interviews over the past year with Hello america co-presenter Michael Strahan and GMA3: what you need to know » Co-ancre TJ Holmes, Trebek spoke candidly about living with cancer and the lessons he learned. He also spoke about what he hoped his final days would be like and how grateful he was to have been given the chance to experience all the love his viewers had for him as he faced pancreatic cancer from stage 4.

Prior to her passing, Strahan had a rare interview with Jean Trebek, Alex’s wife of over 30 years, in which she spoke about her husband’s illness and what she learned from each of them.

The special includes Good Morning America cRobin Roberts’ interview with Trebek when he first revealed his diagnosis and decided to help raise awareness of the symptoms of the disease.

In interviews before his death, Trebek’s colleagues reflect on his persistence, strength, and respect for his fans. The hour includes a behind-the-scenes look at “Jeopardy” through Trebek’s eyes and rare footage from his television debut.
