42 positive COVID-19 cases linked to Surrey gymnasium


SURREY (NEWS 1130) – Forty-two people who recently worked or worked at the Platinum Fitness Club in Surrey have tested positive for COVID-19, and the cases appear to be from people who have not self-isolated while waiting for the test results.According to a statement from Fraser Health Friday, anyone who was in the gym anytime between October 21 and November 7 must self-isolate for 14 days, starting from the date of their last visit to the facility.

“The site voluntarily closed on November 7 and will remain closed until Fraser Health has completed contact tracing and follow-up site inspections, and determines that the company has put in place adequate mitigation strategies. COVID-19 to reduce the risk of future transmission of COVID-19 in this location, ”the statement read.

A post on social media from the gym says the outbreak was attributed to people who were in the gym after being tested but before receiving the results.

“After many discussions with the health authorities (sic), it came to our attention that some COVID positive clients had attended the club while awaiting the results of their tests. As a result, we must continue to remain closed to work with Fraser Health.

No reopening date has been set.
