WWE Raw Underground “Considered Completed” (report)

WWE’s Raw Underground concept seems to be running out of steam. The latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter states that Shane McMahon’s concept of an underground wrestling club is “considered finished” for the time being.Raw Underground premiered in August and ran for about two months, but we haven’t seen any of it in recent weeks.

WWE did not film any Raw Underground segments for the September 28 episode of Raw due to the company’s latest round of COVID-19 infections. There was no sign of it on the October 5 or 12 episodes either.

There are concerns in WWE about another COVID outbreak. WWE had used talent from NXT, Performance Center interns and outside extras, Raw Underground fights, and as crowd extras. The decision was made to isolate WWE Superstars as much as possible, which contributed to this “hiatius.”

Riddick Moss, Dabba-Kato and Arturo Ruas featured prominently on RAW Underground. All three contestants were recruited for the Raw brand as part of the WWE Draft 2020. It remains to be seen how they will be utilized in the weeks and months to come.
