WATCH LIVE: Los Angeles Dodgers take on Tampa Bay Rays in Game 2 of World Series


Brandon Lowe went deep twice and Joey Wendle led three to help the Tampa Bay Rays to a 6-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 2 of the 2020 World Series on Wednesday. The series is tied 1-1 with the third game scheduled for Friday.Here’s’s recap of the Rays’ win in Game 2:


Loup is back to start the ninth round with Diego Castillo throwing the bullpen.

After a strikeout and a long ball, Castillo tries to close the second game.

Castillo gets Chris Taylor on strikes to slam the door and even the World Series at 1-1.


Jake McGee is set to pitch the ninth for the Dodgers.

Yandy Diaz reached with a unique walk.

Randy Arozarena also reached with a walk, but after both men were lifted for pinch runners, the Dodgers came out of the inning.


Corey Seager leads the round with a solo homerun to cut the Rays lead at 6-4.

Justin Turner doubles down the center as the ball falls between two defenders in the outfield.

Aaron Loup enters the game for the Rays with two strikeouts.

Turner is stuck in second, the Rays lead 6-4 in the ninth inning.


Willy Adames doubles with two outs, but is blocked to complete the round.


Pete Fairbanks comes out of the bullpen and throws a three-on-three inning using just six shots.


Alex Wood takes over on the mound for the Dodgers.

Yandy Diaz hits the wall but is held to a long single with an out.

Diaz moved up to second on picking a defender and Randy Arozarena receives an intentional walk.

Wood strands both runners, the Rays continue to lead 6-3.


Will Smith hits a home run with a strikeout against Nick Anderson to reduce the Rays lead to 6-3.


Ji-Man Choi reached with a single to start the round.

Manuel Margot makes a single on the left, Choi goes to third place without any withdrawal.

Joey Wendle leads Choi with a fly sack, Rays leads 6-2.


AJ Pollock reaches out on a walk, the third released by Snell this evening.

Chris Taylor hits a two-run homerun, Snell’s first shot, the Rays lead reduced to 5-2.

Mookie Betts draws a walk and Nick Anderson heats up in the pickup box for the Rays.

Corey Seager in singles and Anderson is set to replace Snell with two and two strikeouts.

Both runners are blocked, 5-2 Rays after five innings.


Austin Meadows hits the Rays with a two-release single.

Brandon Lowe hits his second home run of the game, a two-runner shot to give the Rays a 5-0 lead.


Snell has eight strikeouts and hasn’t allowed a hit in four innings.


Julio Urias and Dustin May throw in the Dodgers pen as Victor Gonzalez continues over the mound.

Randy Arozarena reaches with just one out and is cleared on the choice of a defender after Kiké Hernández threw a double ball, Ji-Man Choi is safe at the start.

May enters the game to pitch for the Dodgers, their fourth pitcher of the game.

Margot hits a single in right field, Choi advances in second.

Joey Wendle doubled up in the gap, leading the two runners home to extend the Rays lead to 3-0.


Snell responds with a third inning three-and-three on the downside as the Rays continue to lead.


Floro recorded the first two strikeouts of the third and Victor Gonzalez replaced him to record the third strike and keep the score at 1-0 Rays.


Max Muncy walks to lead the second inning for the Dodgers.

Cody Bellinger also reaches out on a walk, Muncy goes to second with an out.

The two runners are blocked because the score remains 1-0 for the Rays.


Tony Gonsolin stays on the mound, with Dylan Floro warming up in the Dodgers pen.

Manuel Margot scores, steals the second goal and advances to third on a ball deep in the middle of the field.

With one out in the second inning, Floro replaces Gonsolin on the mound for the Dodgers.

Margot is cleared at home on a ball on the ground to Corey Seager, Willy Adames accesses the choice of a defender.

Adames is sent off trying to steal the second to complete the round.


Blake Snell takes the mound for the Rays with a 1-0 lead.

Corey Seager hits one on the warning track, but Globe Life Field holds it, keeping the Dodgers off the field.


Tony Gonsolin is on the mound and Game 2 of the 2020 World Series is underway from Globe Life Field in Arlington.

Southpaw Blake Snell (2-2, 3.20 ERA) will take the ball for the Tampa Bay Rays as they even contemplate the 2020 World Series after a loss in Game 1.
