Tottenham are ready for further talks today as they look to reward Swansea City defender Joe Rodon in the national window, Football insider understands.
Londoners are keen to beat West Ham on signing from center-back, 22, ahead of the October 16 deadline.
A recruiting source said Football insider that Tottenham are now set to make an offer for Rodon of around £ 13million after giving hope of a potential deal.
The Championship club are said to want more than £ 15million for their academy product.
But Tottenham could loan Rodon for this season, with the option of calling him back in January if necessary.
Rodon has entered the final two years of his contract and is said to be keen on making his way to the Premier League.
He has played all 90 minutes of Swansea’s four league games this season and represented Wales in their 3-0 loss to England at Wembley on Thursday night.
Tottenham signed six senior stars in the summer window that closed on Monday night, under the leadership of Gareth Bale’s re-signing.
But one of the areas that failed was to introduce Jose Mourinho to the center-back he wanted after the deals for Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar and Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger collapsed late in the window.
Rodon broke into the Swansea squad following their demotion from the Premier League in 2018.
The central 6t 3in has played 54 times for the club, 52 of which have come in the league, and is considered one of the best center-backs outside of the top flight.
