Lazio uploaded a video to social media on Thursday night which showed the United midfielder arriving in Rome before posing with an official club scarf at the airport.
Pereira is set to join the Serie A club on loan with the option of making the move permanent, with the 24-year-old keen to play regular football next season.
The midfielder had been sidelined at United by the arrival of Bruno Fernandes and the return to form of Paul Pogba after lockdown, with the recent signing of Donny van de Beek dealing the final blow to his immediate first-team chances. Pereira signed a four-year contract last year, which has proven prohibitive for a permanent move.
Speaking earlier this week, Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi expressed his enthusiasm for working with the Belgian-born Brazilian.
“I know him,” Inzaghi confirmed. “He’s a quality player who can give us a big helping hand. I don’t want to talk too much about the players who haven’t signed yet.
“We’ll see if he arrives or not. “
