Apple is about to launch its latest generation of superphone, with (you can ). the suggest that we can see several versions of the , with features such as , lidar depth mapping and the latest A14 Bionic processor. (And here are some .) But what will the phone look like? Let’s dive into the rumor mill to get there.
Multiple sizes of iPhone 12
First of all, the physical size of the phone. iPhone 11 Pro 5.8 inch size.that there will be four iterations of the phone, the smallest being the new 5.4 inch . Then there are the two base models, the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, which are both expected to be 6.1 inches, making them slightly larger than the current one.
Finally, there is the big one, the iPhone 12 Pro Max. With a supposed screen size of 6.7 inches, you’ll need a fairly large pocket to keep this beast comfortably housed.
Physical design, cameras and notch
There have been various rumors of an update to the iPhone 12’s outer metal border, which will sport a flat, chamfered metal design, much like the border seen on the recent iPad Pro. The PhoneArena mockup, above, shows off the potential look and it’s the one I’m very excited about. The mockup also shows a potential fourth lens in the phone’s rear camera array – reportedly a lidar sensor, which would provide more accurate depth information for enhanced augmented reality functions.
The flat design is said to help Apple reduce the physical size of the phone, by shrinking those bezels and letting the screen fill the body more. The notch on the front of the screen that houses the selfie camera would also be slimmed down, although it probably won’t go away entirely in this generation of phones.
It would be nice to see ait was unveiled in September (which is especially useful in the age of wearing coronavirus masks), but we’re not holding our breath.
What we almost certainly won’t see – and there haven’t been any leaks to the contrary – is a foldable phone from Apple in 2020. It remains to be seen whether the company is launching a foldable device, but for now it seems. than its content to see how popular foldables from Samsung, Motorola and Huawei are before making their own.
New blue color
Rumor has it that Apple is preparing a new navy blue color for the new generation of iPhone 12, possibly replacing the green model launched by the iPhone 11. It’s all the rage – it’s the Pantone color of the iPhone. year for 2020 – and I think it looks pretty smart in the EverythingApplePro mockup, seen above.
