Recent images from Tesla’s Fremont plant revealed that the electric-car maker is rolling out ‘refreshed’ versions of its Model 3 sedan. Newly produced vehicles feature several subtle updates, including a new center console and wheels. rather unique. And as is the case with every change to a beloved product, Tesla enthusiasts are quite divided on the changes.A look at the newly produced Model 3s shows that Tesla has adopted what appears to be a more traditional design for the all-electric sedan’s new center console. Unlike the seamless piano black console on the original Model 3, the “refreshed” vehicles feature a matte finish, silver accents and faux leather stitching. The original console phone charger cover has also been removed.

Many Tesla owners were quick to welcome the new update, with some saying the new center console design just looked more refined and luxurious. Others, however, argued that the original piano black console performed best as it fitted in perfectly with the vehicle’s minimalist interior and sleek, sleek lines. Some have even noticed that the new console looks like something mainstream automakers like GM or Chrysler would design for their cars.

It’s not just the Model 3’s center console that has sparked conversations among the electric car community. The wheels of the vehicle have also become a point of interest for Tesla enthusiasts. Much of this is due to what appear to be the new Model 3 wheels, which now look slightly different compared to their classic 19-inch sport wheels.

The new wheels, initially shared on the EV blog Electrek, appear to be roughly the same size as conventional 19 ″ sport rims. However, they are significantly flatter, suggesting that the new wheels can be optimized for efficiency. The new wheels are also very interesting in that all their spokes do not have the same shape. This, combined with the look of the new wheels, inspired suggestions that they could be Tesla’s new Aero covers for the Model 3.

Similar to the new center console, the newly spotted Model 3 wheels also received polarizing feedback from the Tesla community, with a number of owners noting that the previous 19-inch sports wheels looked much better. That being said, it’s worth noting that the new Model 3 wheels look a lot like the Model S Slipstream wheels, which are sold today by Tesla as part of its winter tire set.

As several Tesla owners have noted, the polarizing reception from the company’s enthusiasts is roughly in shape for the electric car maker. After all, other Tesla creations received mixed reviews when they were unveiled, only to be well accepted later. A good example of this is the Cybertruck, which has divided the electric vehicle community to such an extent that some Tesla owners have called out the electric car maker about the vehicle. Almost a year later, the Cybertruck is pretty much accepted, as indicated by its massive reservation list.
