Team news: Coufal makes his West Ham debut in Leicester

Vladimir Coufal will make his West Ham United debut in Sunday’s Premier League game at Leicester City.

The Czech Republic defender, who completed his transfer from Slavia Prague on Thursday, steps straight into the starting lineup with Ryan Fredericks sidelined with a hamstring injury.

It marks the only change from the eleven who beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-0 a week ago, as Coufal integrates into a defensive unit also containing Angelo Ogbonna, Fabian Balbuena, Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku.

Jarrod Bowen, who has scored twice against Wolves, continues as part of a three front alongside Michail Antonio and Pablo Fornals.

Declan Rice is the team’s captain and is joined in midfield by Tomas Soucek.

Figures like Sebastien Haller, Andriy Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson give the Hammers other attacking options from the bench.

West Ham United: Fabianski, Ogbonna, Balbuena, Cresswell, Coufal, Rice (c), Soucek, Masuaku, Bowen, Antonio, Fornals
Submarines: Randolph, Johnson, Noble, Lanzini, Yarmolenko, Felipe Anderson, Haller

Arbitrator: Andy Madley
