Tatiana Maslany denies being cast for Disney + series

Tatiana Maslany – who starred in Black orphan as Sarah Manning from 2013 to 2017 – denied being cast for the lead role in Disney + live-action She-Hulk series.

“It’s actually not a real thing and it’s like a press release that got out of hand,” Maslany told the Sudbury Star Thursday morning in reference to his portrait of Jennifer Walters. “It’s absolutely not the case – I’ve been connected to these things in the past and the press has taken to it, but that’s not really a thing, unfortunately. ”

When in a hurry, Maslany continued to deny the casting. “Yeah, I don’t know how these things go – I don’t know, I don’t know. You know better; I’ve no idea. ”

Maslany’s role as She-Hulk of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) was reported by Deadline in mid-September. Marvel did not comment on the report at the time. His casting was celebrated by veteran Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo She-Hulk comic book authors Charles Soule and Dan Slott, artist Phil Noto and Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings«Simu Liu.

She-Hulk is one of the many MCU series that Disney + has in the pipeline. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was supposed to launch programming in August, but, due to coronavirus delays, has been pushed back to an unknown date. WandaVision will take its place and will be created in November. Other ongoing series include Loki, Hawkeye, Mme Marvel, Moon Knight and a drama centered around Nick Fury. An animated What if…? the show is also in preparation.

On the cinema side, Marvel has Black Widow The film’s premiere is scheduled for May 7, 2021. Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings will follow on July 9, 2021. Eternals next comes November 5, 2021. After that will be the untitled Spider-Man 3 December 17, 2021, Thor: love and thunder February 11, 2022 and Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness March 25, 2022.

Created by writer Stan Lee and artist John Buscema, She-Hulk first appeared in La sauvage She-Hulk # 1 in February 1980. After sustaining an injury, she receives a blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce, giving her a milder version of the Hulk’s powers. This gives him superhuman strength but allows him to maintain his emotional and intellectual intelligence.

Developed for television by Jessica Gao (Rick and morty), She-Hulk is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Disney +.
