With only four episodes remaining of the successful supernatural-mystery series – leading up to the inevitable battle of Winchester against God – it seemed entirely appropriate that the world’s first man (biblically speaking) make an appearance before the final battle of the series.
In the promo clip, viewers see a dumbfounded Dean, greeting Adam. “I’m Adam, the first guy on the assembly line,” said Adam (Alessandro Juliani). Which Dean responds to, “Garden? Apple? This Adam? Wow. Jack, meanwhile, narrows his eyes in confusion as the woman with Adam pats him.
The promo then teases a message shortly after their greeting, with glittering white font in front of the flames saying, “The first man is their last hope.” The post suggests that Adam will be an ally for Dean and Jack as the two hit the road to complete a final ritual against Chuck (Rob Benedict). However, Dean killed Eve in season 6 of Supernatural, which will be an interesting plot point to potentially see unfold in this episode with the introduction of Adam. It is not known if Adam is working with Eve or knows about his revenge scheme (s) against Dean and Castiel.
Season 15, Episode 17 is titled “Unity,” and is written by Meredith Glynn and directed by Catriona McKenzie. The official episode synopsis reads as follows:
Dean (Jensen Ackles) hits the road with Jack (Alexander Calvert) who must perform one final ritual in the quest to beat Chuck (guest star Rob Benedict). A difference of opinion leaves Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Castiel (Misha Collins) searching for answers to their own questions.
Supernatural premiered in 2005 and since then has grown into the longest-running fantasy / sci-fi series in American television history. SupernaturalThe last season of the season was supposed to end in May, but production was temporarily suspended last March due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). Principal photography resumed in August, filming the final episodes of the show for its closing in September.
Starring Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins and Alexander Calvert, the final episodes of Supernatural Thursdays air at 8 p.m. ET / PT on The CW. Seasons 1 through 14 of the series are currently streaming on Netflix.
