I have a feeling this week’s music briefing was DOING SOMETHING THAT RAISES EVERYTHING IS horrible. Not that I’m complaining, I’m really here for a joyful, happy glee on my TV every weekend. I think we can all agree that no one ever needs to hear The Police’s Dave Arch version of Roxanne again.

So it’s definitely a Tango, but lacking in the dynamism and thrust of Max. He’s got half-decent timing, but his headline is all over the shop. However, a big push for the first week makes it look like it could improve a lot over the next few weeks.

It’s time for MAX ET DIANNE! Their first dance is the Tango to “Best Fake Smile” from James Bay. My best fake smile ran out in April. Now it’s just a grimace. Some days I wake up looking like the Joker from Batman.

I LOVE Caroline’s yellow dress, and she has a great musicality and a great performance. Some pending balance issues but some good solo sections. All rather charming and entirely happy, very much appreciated.

Then it’s CAROLINE AND JOHANNES! Their first dance is American Smooth to “9-5 (Morning Train)” by Sheena Easton. What song and what pairing; definitely one of my favorites this year. Becks has also worked with her a few times and confirms that she is ADORABLE. The emotion in training is a bit overwhelming, I want to hug him.

Scores: 4 (drink), 5.5 – a total of 14. Anyone else (whisper it), Bruno not really missing?
