Stephen Colbert, Julia Louis-Dreyfus mocks Donald Trump’s Benes-esque dance


Elaine Benes, the character in Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ “Seinfeld”, was renowned for some of the worst dances ever. However, that was before Donald Trump decided to interrupt a few movements on stage during a rally.On Saturday night, a video of Trump dancing to Savage’s “Let Me See Your Hips Swing” went viral. And in the words of George Costanza, “it’s more like a dry lifting of the whole body set to music.”

Seeing a video comparing Trump’s dancing style to Elaine’s, Louis-Dreyfus herself tweeted, joking that the US president has now stolen both “Seinfeld” and his most recent comedy “Veep”.

Dreyfus ‘Seinfeld’ co-star also commented:

And, of course, Global’s “The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert had to step in.

“He makes the man with the inflatable tube look like Fred Astaire!” Laughed Colbert. “I saw more of the rhythmic movement of a potato rolling in the backseat of my car!”

“How do you go wrong dancing at the ‘YMCA’?” he wondered. “It comes with instructions! “

Twitter also had a lot to say about Trump’s Elaine-style moves.
