Simon Cowell has daily physiotherapy sessions and takes 10,000 steps a day as he recovers from his horrific bicycle accident earlier this year.
The TV star broke his back in the potentially fatal accident and rested at his Malibu, Calif., Home alongside his girlfriend Lauren Silverman and son Eric during his recovery.
While he hasn’t been on the move amid the COVID-19 pandemic, insiders tell the New York Post’s Page Six gossip column that the America’s Got Talent judge isn’t letting the injury put him down.
“Simon has few or no visitors due to COVID, but he takes 10,000 steps a day and swims regularly,” they shared. “It’s become a permanent joke that Lauren has to run to follow him. ”
Simon celebrated his 61st birthday at home on Wednesday, October 7 and answered calls from friends in the UK, according to her friend and Britain’s Got Talent co-star Amanda Holden.
” He is fine. I keep in touch with Lauren every week, ”she shared. “His will and determination to improve is inspiring. Amanda added that being with Lauren and Eric also motivates Simon to focus on getting back on his feet.
Simon broke his back in three places – and was about an inch across his spinal cord and possible paralysis – as he tested his new high-powered electric bike with his young son in August.
While recovering, he was forced to retire from the more recent seasons of America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent.
