Return of the “Animaniacs” after 22 years with the Hulu Show: watch the trailer


After 22 years of absence, Animaniacs is back with a lot of pent-up madness. The rebooted animated series premieres November 20 on Hulu.As seen in the trailer, all of the characters from the classic ’90s cartoon are back: Warner brothers Yakko and Wakko, their sister Dot, and the dastardly side villains Pinky and the Brain. Just like with the original show, the new Animaniacs combines kid-friendly education and a wacky slapstick with humor and social commentary more suited to adults. The teaser even chronicles the concept of the reboot itself, with the Warner siblings receiving a massive withdrawal from Hulu. But there’s plenty more in store, including iPad puns, Beyoncé jokes, anime animaniacs, and even what appears to be President Donald Trump as a giant Cyclops in one. Odyssey-themed episode.

The original cast of Animaniacs is back too, with Rob Paulson in Yakko Warner and Pinky, Tress MacNeille in Dot Warner, Jess Harnell in Wakko Warner and Maurice LaMarche in The Brain. Steven Spielberg returns as executive producer of the series, along with Sam Register, president of Warner Bros. Animation / Cartoon Network Studios, and Amblin Television as co-chairs. Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank are also executive producers. Wellesley Wild is the showrunner and executive producer, and Gabe Swarr serves as the co-executive producer.
