Calgary Police are seeking help in identifying a suspect in Thursday night’s targeted Beltline shooting.

Police and EMS were called to a building at 215 13th Ave. SW around 10:30 p.m. Thursday for reporting a shooting.

Police said an unknown man entered one of the apartment complex’s units, apparently to meet a woman for a date. Once inside the unit, the man locked the door, brandished a gun, and began to shoot.

The gunfire injured a man who was in a bedroom inside the unit and another man in the apartment next door, who was hit by a stray bullet that went through the wall.

A SME spokesperson said two adult men were taken to hospital with gun-related injuries. One was in serious, potentially fatal, condition while the other was in serious condition.

Both victims have since been returned to stable condition, Calgary police said.

The suspect fled before the police arrived. Police believe the shooting was targeted.

Earlier on Friday, police said they had arrested a man and searched for a second suspect.
