PM of France details new health protocols

PARISThe French Prime Minister on Thursday presented new health protocols against the spread of the coronavirus.

Jean Castex gave a press conference to give the details of the protocols announced by President Emmanuel Macron in a televised address Wednesday evening.

Protocols include the now well-publicized curfew, which applies nationwide. People must be inside from 9:00 p.m. (1900GMT) to 6:00 a.m. (500GMT). The curfew will last four weeks.

Castex was joined on the podium by the ministers of Health, Labor, Interior and Economy.

The Prime Minister has banned all private parties and gatherings involving the use of public spaces. This includes, above all, weddings and engagement parties, two of the biggest celebrations.

A second salary increase for hospital staff – excluding doctors – of € 93 has been announced; initially scheduled for March 2021, it will be paid before the end of the year “given the health situation”, said Minister of Health Olivier Veran.

The government re-established an official state of emergency effective Saturday, October 17 at midnight. A state of emergency was declared earlier in the year and ended on July 10. they will be able to regulate the restrictions as they move from region to region.
