The outspoken Good Morning Britain Host has targeted both Mr Trump and Mr Biden while calling the debate “the most embarrassing and uninspiring spectacle in the history of modern American politics.” Mr Morgan echoed an opinion of many analysts; that the debate, held in the early hours of Wednesday morning at UK time, was chaotic.

CNN’s Jake Tapper called the televised event “the worst debate I’ve ever seen. In fact, it was not even a debate. It was a shame. In a Daily Mail editorial, Mr Morgan criticized Joe Biden for failing, in his opinion, to adequately deal political blows on his opponent.

He called Mr. Biden’s performance “weak and ineffective,” accusing him of “mumbling inconsistently” at certain points in the 90-minute show.

He also criticized the president for interrupting his opponent too often.

He said: “Trump looked like a drunk heckler in a comedy club who keeps hammering for deeds thinking everyone is cheering him on – when in fact they just want the annoying villain to be rejected .

“In the worst of many horrific moments, he refused to condemn white supremacists, and when specifically challenged about the Proud Boys, a transphobic misogynist and transphobic homophobic racist misogynist, he replied, ‘Proud Boys, take a step back and stay away! ‘ ”
