The parent got angry after finding out his new face cream had been torn and used by his two-year-old.
As the woman scolded her daughter, their five-year-old golden retriever ran to protect the crying child with its paws.
The animal, named after JK Rowling’s fictional character Harry Potter, also growled at the parent, apparently telling him to back off.

Chinese mother Ms Sun told MailOnline she was extremely upset after discovering her newly purchased face cream torn and used by her two-year-old as a toy.
Harry’s adorable reaction was captured by the animal’s owner, Ms. Sun, at their home in east China’s Xuzhou city on Friday.
The Chinese mother had just bought a face cream for her daughter and had left it in the living room while she went to prepare lunch.
After returning home, the woman was exasperated to find that her baby daughter, You You, had torn the product packaging while playing with the jar of moisturizer.
“Honestly, I was really upset. I had just bought the cream and half was already gone, ”Ms. Sun, 32, told MailOnline. “My baby started to cry because I was yelling at him quite aggressively. “
But the parent’s anger melted when she saw her golden retriever, Harry, rushing to protect the little girl from being scolded.
Harry the golden retriever’s adorable reaction was captured on camera by the animal’s owner, Ms. Sun, after the scene occurred at their home in east China’s Xuzhou city on Friday.

Footage shows the furry guardian standing in front of the crying toddler while showing his teeth to the mother, apparently warning her to stop.
The animal even became more defensive when the mother told it to get out of the way.

Amused by the dog’s reaction, the mother calmed down and stopped the scolding.
