Amid a nearly five-month suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic and social injustice unrest in America, the NBA has crowned a champion: the Los Angeles Lakers over the Miami Heat in six games. Now, league officials, owners, teams, managers and players are all looking to the future. The NBA will conduct a basketball-related revenue (BRI) audit and continue discussions with the National Basketball Players Association on the future in terms of luxury, free agency and season salary cap and tax thresholds. NBPA Executive Director Michele Roberts told Athletic last week that she expects a resolution soon on the salary cap and tax levels and that a free agency should no later than December 1, with the cap not deviating too far from $ 115 million.
