Mikel Arteta confirms major injury blow as Edu gives an encouraging double boost

Here’s your Arsenal morning summary for Thursday, October 29.

David Luiz a big doubt for the shock of Manchester United

David Luiz will not play a role in tonight’s game against Dundalk, Gunners manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed.

The 33-year-old was injured in Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Leicester City and faces a race to get back in time for Sunday’s trip to Manchester United.

Shkodran Mustafi came in for Luiz and is expected to replace at Old Trafford.

“David still has some discomfort in this area,” Arteta said.

“To play Dundalk, there’s no chance and it’s a big doubt for him to play this weekend.

“Musti is perfectly fit to play and obviously internal contractual situations will be discussed internally. ”

It is what the Gunners boss said in full.

Crystal Palace teammate hints at Wilfried Zaha move

Arsenal-linked striker Wilfried Zaha could move away from Crystal Palace if he scores 15-20 Premier League goals this season, according to Andros Townsend.

The former Tottenham winger spoke about his Eagles teammate in a new interview with talkSPORT.

Zaha, 27, has scored five goals in six appearances so far this season and has reportedly made it clear that he wants to play at a higher level. He was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates last summer, before Arsenal moved for Nicolas Pepe.

“There are others that we can play (instead of Zaha), which allows him to take the ball and get 1 on 1, 1 on 3 or 1 on 4,” Townsend said.

“And this season he’s blossoming. May this continue for a long time for us. If he scores 15-20 goals, as he’s on the right track, I’m sure he will get his shot. ”
