Manchester mayor accuses government of failing to notify local leaders of new restrictions

AUstralia’s prime minister on Thursday said his government was prioritizing reopening air services to Japan, Singapore and South Korea.Scott Morrison said he discussed reopening the air routes with leaders of the three countries.

He described Japan and South Korea as “two particularly successful countries” in dealing with the pandemic.

“There are a number of countries that we are looking at to see what we can do probably next year. We’re not going to rush into it, ”said Mr. Morrison.

« [The three Asian countries] are my current priorities as to how we will pursue this. ”

Australia will allow travelers from neighboring New Zealand to arrive without hotel quarantine from Friday.

New Zealand has eradicated community transmission of Covid.

But New Zealand will continue to insist that Australian travelers quarantine for two weeks upon arrival.
