“I can still play in Marseille”: Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez admits he could return to France one day with a move to Paris Saint-Germain also a possibility

Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez declined to rule out a return to France in the future and raised the possibility of playing for Marseille or Paris Saint-Germain.
Mahrez has been in English football since 2014 when he joined Leicester, but he started his career in France, playing for Quimper before signing for Le Havre.
The Algeria international was asked about his future by City teammate Benjamin Mendy and revealed he was a Marseille fan when he was growing up.

Mahrez said in an interview with Canal Plus: “He’s crazy, but it’s true that I was a supporter of Marseille when I was little.
As for PSG, it’s irrelevant because I’m still under contract and I’m doing well in Manchester, but Paris is my city. I was born and raised in Paris. We never know.’
The 29-year-old admitted he had the opportunity to join Marseille in 2014 and said he could join them at some point.
The winger says he’s settled in City at the moment, but added that “you shouldn’t be closing any doors”
Mahrez, who previously played for Le Havre, raised the possibility of a move to Marseille or PSG
He said: “I could have gone to play in Marseille [in 2014-15] and I can still play in Marseille. You never know in life, you shouldn’t close any doors.
“I didn’t know at the time and I was doing fine at Leicester but they decided I didn’t have the required level [to play there]».
After winning the Premier League with Leicester in 2016, Mahrez also won the title with City, as he won the League Cup twice and the FA Cup once.
Mahrez appears to be in City for the moment, with his contract at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2023.
This season he has made seven appearances for City, scoring once and providing an assist.
