Manchester City scare Kevin De Bruyne injury ahead of Arsenal clash

Manchester City may have suffered a massive injury stroke ahead of their big Premier League clash with Arsenal on Sunday. Arsenal have had a good start to the campaign, collecting nine points in their first four games, as many as champions Liverpool.

That form has led to talk of Mikel Arteta’s men vying for the title, and this Sunday their title qualifiers will be tested by a Manchester City side desperate to put a disappointing start to the campaign behind them.

But ahead of the game, Man City suffered a potentially huge blow with Kevin De Bruyne apparently injured during international duty.

Belgium’s official Twitter account confirmed tonight that De Bruyne is back at Man City, “not fit enough” to take part in the Red Devils’ Nations League clash with Iceland on Wednesday.

The tweet read: “UPDATE: @DavidKev went back to his club. He couldn’t be fit enough to play against Iceland. ”

De Bruyne played 73 minutes in Belgium’s 2-1 loss to England on Sunday.

It looks like he now faces a battle for his fitness against Arsenal and if he were to be out it would be a big blow to Man City.

De Bruyne was the Premier League assist leader last season at 20 and Premier League Player of the Season.
