Jamie Laing made his Strictly Come Dancing debut on Saturday – and will speak about appearing on Monday night’s Made In Chelsea show.

In a MailOnline-exclusive teaser scene, Jamie and his girlfriend Sophie Habboo meet Alex Mytton for a glass of champagne to toast Jamie’s new venture.

The MIC mainstay looks thrilled to be on Strictly 2020, having had to take time off from last year’s series when he suffered a foot injury.

“Have you practiced? Alex asks, in scenes that were filmed before Jamie Strictly debuted.

“I practiced with Habbsy,” Jamie says of his other half.

“Are you worried about the Strict Curse?” Alex asks, noting the eerie spell that hangs over each couple when one of them logs on to the show.

“Terrified! Habbs jokes, adding, “No, I’m not! “

Either way, you’re pretty damn. You’re more cursed than Strictly, ”jokes Alex.

“I’m thwarting the curse!” Jamie said.

He then explains: “Last year, when I received my partner, and I said [Habbs] my foot had been injured, [she] said “Which girl am I going to have to kill?” ”

The scenes will air during the Monday night installment of the E4 show, which sees the 20th season continue.

Jamie and her Strictly pro partner Karen Hauer took to the dance floor on Saturday as the 2020 series kicked off the live shows. Last year he had been paired up with Oti Mabuse, who was then fixed with Kelvin Fletcher, Jamie’s replacement.

The pair ended up winning the series.

Jamie admitted this weekend that he would ‘step down’ from Made In Chelsea as he takes on Strictly.

Jamie then explains, `` Last year when I got my partner, and I said [Habbs] my foot had been injured, [she] he told me "Which girl am I going to have to kill?"'

While admitting that he could ‘never’ give up the show entirely, he said, ‘I’m incredibly loyal to [the production company] Monkey Kingdom and Channel 4 – a lot of people talk badly about reality shows and say they’ve been shown in a bad light.

“Well, I was shown in a bad light, I was shown in a good light, I had the most amazing vacation, I got paid to hang out with my friends and I spent ten years on television.

“I would never say, ‘Hey, I’m the one done,’ but yeah, I’m definitely taking a step back.

Jamie thinks he was “lucky” when he landed a spot on the TV series and admits that during the first few years of his life in the spotlight, he “didn’t think about” the “consequences of his actions.”

He added, “I joined a TV show and then got lucky. I’ve been doing Made In Chelsea for so long, and at first we thought we were famous. We were nothing!

“But we’ve had this experience of dating a lot of people and we haven’t really thought about the consequences of our behavior. I think I behaved a little bit badly for a few years and lost empathy with my friends, so I’m worried about that.

Speaking to Style magazine from The Sunday Times, he said: “There are a lot of exciting things to come. And I don’t think I can be 40 and still do a reality show with 20 year old kids, you know what I mean? It’s a bit of a desperate look.
