Lock rules in your zip code area and how to find them instantly


Lockdown restrictions are now in place in parts of Cheshire and Merseyside. But with so many different variations of the rules across the UK, it’s not always easy to follow what you are and not be allowed to do where you live.

Our colleagues at In Your Area have created an online tool that will instantly tell you what measures are in place where you live.

All you have to do is enter your zip code in the box below, and it will tell you what the new lockdowns are in your neighborhood.

Cheshire West and Chester East are now areas of concern for coronaviruses.

The regions have been added to the government’s coronavirus watch list due to an increase in cases and infection rates.

Areas of concern are the subject of targeted actions to reduce the prevalence of coronavirus, for example by receiving additional testing in nursing homes and increasing community engagement with high-risk groups

It comes in the week in which stricter lockdown measures were applied to Warrington, Halton and Merseyside.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock has announced local lockdowns for Warrington, Halton and across Merseyside due to an increase in coronavirus cases and infection rates.

Infection rates in Merseyside in particular have skyrocketed in recent weeks, and Liverpool Mayor Joe Anderson has gone so far as to call for ‘breaker’ lockouts in an attempt to stop the spread.
