Liverpool’s ‘most valuable’ team in the Champions League
The Liverpool squad are the most valuable in the Champions League this season by calculations.
Bookies Bet Victor cite their European Football Index as estimating Jurgen Klopp’s side now have a combined value of just under £ 1 billion (£ 978,930,000).
Their closest rivals in this regard are Premier League rivals Manchester City with a squad estimated at £ 944,460,000.
It is perhaps revealing that the English duo are now both ahead of the traditional Spanish powers, Barcelona in third with £ 827,730,000 and Real Madrid in fifth with £ 780,480,000.
They are separated by holders Bayern Munich in fourth, with £ 782,060,000.
The rest of the top 10 is as follows:
6e Paris St-Germain 757,580,000 £
7e Chelsea £ 749,320,000
8e Manchester United 731.880.000 £
9e Atletico Madrid £ 657,630,000
10e international 628 290 000 £.
Interestingly, the Atletico and Inter sides are assessed as being inferior to Tottenham Hotspur, the best team in the Europa League, at £ 680,450,000.
