The new measures will last 28 days and will be “closely watched” by the government.
Entering level 3 means pubs and bars must close unless they are serving meals while households are prohibited from mixing indoors or in private gardens and beer gardens.
The unique package of measures in these specific areas will be officially announced today (Tuesday, October 27) and have been agreed by leaders with the government to “achieve lasting reduction in infection rates”, in particular to help protect vulnerable residents, the NHS and care services.
A package of supports similar to those obtained in other parts of the country has been agreed to help residents and businesses who will be affected by the new restrictions.
Further measures specific to these areas of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire will be announced today.
Ashfield, Mansfield, Newark & Sherwood and Bassetlaw all remain under Level 2 restrictions and have avoided the most stringent government measures.
