“King” Kevin Clifton is surprised by his girlfriend Stacey Dooley’s birthday surprise


Kevin Clifton of Grimsby received a special birthday surprise prepared for him by his girlfriend, Stacey Dooley. The former Strictly Come Dancing star found her dining room elegantly decorated with candles and flowers with huge balloons spelling out the words ‘King Kev’.

Kevin – who turned 38 – and Stacey gave fans a glimpse of the birthday celebrations on social media.

The clip shows Kevin shocked at the surprise job his girlfriend had done, saying, “Wow, check this out! ”

Stacey posted on Instagram: “Happy birthday baby. Simply the best, ”and posted a video of Kevin having a drink at the candle light table.

The couple have been an item for over a year after winning the Glitterball Trophy on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018.

They now live together at Stacey’s house in London.

Kevin, who is from Waltham, announced earlier this year that he is leaving Strictly Come Dancing after seven years to pursue his dream of playing Scott Hastings in Strictly Ballroom the Musical.

However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the tour has been postponed until September 2021.

He said at the time: “After finishing the last streak with the Children In Need trophy and Christmas Special, I want to leave in style so I decided that now is the time to move on and get away from it all. focus on other areas of my life and career. ”

Speaking of Strictly Ballroom the Musical, he said: “I am more than delighted to finally realize the lifelong ambition of playing Scott Hastings in Strictly Ballroom The Musical.

Kevin and his sister Joanne had also planned to present their tour, Burn the Floor, to the theater audience, but that was canceled in the spring due to the coronavirus pandemic.

They have since announced a social distance tour – “An Evening with Kevin and Joanne Clifton – Dance, Songs, Stories.” ”

It will arrive at at least 11 locations across the UK – although Grimsby has yet to be announced on the list.

Chesterfield, King’s Lynn and Peterborough are some of the closest venues for local fans keen to see the siblings again in action.
