Katie Piper shares update from her hospital bed after undergoing 400th surgery

Katie Piper shared an update with her loyal supporters after having eye surgery. The television star and author, 37, took to Instagram to share a number of snaps from her hospital bed on Friday.

Following the operation, following a sulfuric acid attack in 2008, Katie’s spokesperson assured her worried fans that the star was feeling strong and well despite the circumstances.

Speaking to Mail Online, the rep explained that the proud mom is nearing her 400th operation since the horrific acid attack that happened 12 years ago.

“Katie is now approaching her 400th operation, but she is more courageous than ever when she is hospitalized for her current procedure.

“The eye is healing well, and Katie remains optimistic about the future and cannot thank the amazing ophthalmic surgeon and his team enough for their work in their continued restoration and preservation of her sight in her ‘good eye’. ”

They continued, “The operation was a skin graft on her upper eyelid using the skin on her left arm.

“She is currently resting to minimize the threat of infection and to ensure a speedy recovery. Katie thanks everyone for their care and warm wishes. “



Katie faced endless complications after the acid attack

Katie is blind in her left eye as a result of the attack, however, due to complications, she was forced to have surgery on her healthy eye earlier this week.

The brave star went to the hospital to prepare for the invasive surgery on her 37th birthday.

Earlier this week, after the operation, Katie assured fans she was feeling fine.

Taking to her Instagram to share a photo from her hospital bed, she wrote, “Thanks for all of your posts.

“I am in the hospital recovering from my recent eye operation, everything went well.
