Jared Leto has the final say.

The Oscar winner, who played the classic Batman villain in 2016 Suicide Squad, will return as the clown prince of crime in Zack Snyder’s new cut Justice League, which is slated to air next year on HBO Max.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, filming is currently underway with Leto, Ben Affleck, Ray Fisher and Amber Heard among those involved in filming new scenes for the film. It’s unclear if Leto’s character was originally scheduled to appear in 2017. In 2016, Leto told the Soleil he wanted the Harlequin of Hate to take on Affleck’s Dark Knight and explore a storyline teased in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which implied that Joker had killed Robin. “I think it would be amazing to see Batman and the Joker go head to head! This Batman and this Joker. I mean, I don’t know, maybe that’s too much! But that would be fun.

But he did not appear in Robbie’s last outing as Harley Quinn in Birds of preyand he will not participate next summer Suicide Squad to restart.

Snyder was forced to cede control of Justice League after a family tragedy, with director Joss Whedon brought in to complete filming. But a clash in styles led fans to believe Snyder’s vision – which began in 2013 Steel man and continued in 2016 Batman vs. Superman – has been compromised.
