Hero World Challenge canceled for 2020


Amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and associated travel restrictions, the Tiger Woods TGR Foundation today announced on social channels the cancellation of this season’s Hero World Challenge in Albany, Bahamas.The unofficial 18-player event was scheduled to take place December 3-6.

Henrik Stenson was the defending Hero champion, where the latest winners also include Jon Rahm, Rickie Fowler, Bubba Watson and Jordan Spieth. Woods’ five hero wins and five finalists came when the tournament took place at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif., Which hosts the ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP @ SHERWOOD this week.

Given current global restrictions and ongoing developments resulting from COVID-19, the Hero World Challenge 2020 will not be played this year. This decision was made with the health and well-being of all constituents of the tournament and the community of Albany in mind. We look forward to welcoming 18 of the world’s best players and welcoming tournament guests to Albany, Bahamas next year.
