But on Sunday, Gal Gadot confirmed that she will play the role of Cleopatra in a new film to be directed by her Wonder Woman bar Patty Jenkins.
“Cleopatra is a story I have wanted to tell for a very long time. We couldn’t be more excited and grateful, ”the Israeli actress, 35, said on her Instagram.

The ambitious project will go into pre-production at Paramount Pictures, which won a bidding war between Universal, Warner Bros., Apple and Netflix, according to Deadline.com.
It’s unclear how the story of the Queen of Egypt will be approached in this new tale from the famous legend.
In 1963, Elizabeth Taylor portrayed Cleopatra as a beautiful seductress who had connections with Julius Caesar and Marc Anthony as she sought to retain power as the Roman Empire grew.
