While Wonder Woman 1984 will be released in December, still on an interim basis, star Gal Gadot has signed on to star in Cleopatra, which will once again team up with director of both Wonder Woman films, Patty Jenkins. on rights (apparently between Apple, Universal, Warner Bros. and Netflix), the project has landed at Paramount and, according to Variety, will feature Gadot as the legendary Queen of Egypt. Gadot will follow in the footsteps of Oscar winners Claudette Colbert and Elizabeth Taylor, who both played big-screen versions of the role, with Laeta Kalogridis (Shutter Island, Alita: Battle Angel) writing the screenplay.
Meanwhile, all the delays of Wonder Woman 1984, which was slated for release last June, have fans even more curious about the story, which stars villains Maxwell Lord and Cheetah.
