PARIS (Reuters) – French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday welcomed Armenia and Azerbaijan’s agreement to a humanitarian ceasefire from midnight and stressed that it must be strictly observed by both parts.

“This ceasefire must be unconditional and strictly respected by both parties. France will be very attentive to this and will remain engaged so that the hostilities cease definitively and that credible discussions can quickly begin, ”declared the office of the president in a press release.
