Some 2,500 fans attended the match which served as a test for Portuguese authorities and football officials to assess the possibility of bringing supporters back to stadiums amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The Portuguese federation filled 5% of the capacity of the José Alvalade stadium in Lisbon. The fans were scattered around the stadium and had to sit on each other.

There had been high expectations surrounding the duel between Cristiano Ronaldo and teenage Barcelona sensation Ansu Fati, but the 17-year-old Spaniard remained on the bench throughout the game. Last month, Fati became the youngest player to score for Spain in the Nations League game against Ukraine.
Ronaldo, 35, had one of the best scoring chances of the game in the 53rd minute, hitting the crossbar with a powerful left-footed shot from inside the box. He also missed with a close header just before half-time.
In the 67th, Ronaldo set up a shot from Renato Sanchez which also hit the crossbar. Shots from Ronaldo and Sanchez bounced close to the goal line after hitting the woodwork.
Atlético Madrid striker João Félix, who replaced Ronaldo in the 73rd, nearly gave the hosts the win in the stoppage time but sniffed a shot in front of goal.
Spain coach Luis Enrique gave Adama Traore his national team debut on the bench in the 62nd minute. The Wolverhampton forward had been called up for matches against Germany and Ukraine but was unable to play after testing positive for COVID-19.
Ahead of the match, the Portuguese and Spanish football federations signed an agreement to strengthen their joint bid for the 2030 World Cup, establishing common strategies and cooperation agreements between nations.
