France’s second line Bernard Le Roux will face a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday after being cited for a foul play following the recently concluded game against Wales.
The 31-year-old is said to have hit Welsh skipper Alun Wyn Jones with the elbow at the end of the first quarter of the friendly in Paris and could now miss the final round of the Six Nations game against Ireland if proven guilty.
A statement issued by Six Nations confirmed that Le Roux would appear by video conference before an independent disciplinary panel of three people.
“A disciplinary hearing will be called via Zoom video on Tuesday October 27 at 1:00 p.m. before an independent World Rugby panel appointed by Charles Cuthbert (United Arab Emirates – President), Frank Hadden (Sco) and Leon Lloyd (Eng)”, read the Six Nations declaration.
France occupies third place in the Six Nations standings with three wins in four matches.
