A massive fire ravaged a 33-story residential skyscraper in South Korea on Thursday afternoon, forcing firefighters to evacuate hundreds of people, according to superb local reports.Flaming concrete slabs fell from the tower on the street below as at least 15 people were rushed to hospitals and 43 were evacuated to the roof of the building in Ulsan, according to published footage by busan.com.
The astonishing fire likely started on the 12th floor of the tower around 11 p.m. local time.
Fueled by strong winds, it quickly spread over the roof and along the block, the Ulsan Fire Department said on the exit.
All 136 houses in the block have been evacuated, firefighters said. The fire also spread to a nearby shopping mall, but those flames have since been extinguished.
