Eurozone economy takes off but France and Germany lockdowns cast shadow of Covid-19


The eurozone economy grew at a record pace in the third quarter, but has already stagnated amid a resurgence of coronavirus infections and tough new restrictions, leaving Europe behind the United States and the United States. Asia in its way out of the crisis.

Figures released by the European Union’s statistical agency on Friday showed the combined gross domestic product of the 19 eurozone members to be 12.7% higher in the three months to September than previous quarter, after falling 11.8% in the three months to June.
