American voters will go to the polls on November 3 to vote and Mr. Trump has so far lagged behind Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

The Good Morning Britain host called on Mr Trump for his opinion when he appeared on Fox News.Mr Morgan said: “If the President is watching, maybe I know you haven’t followed me on Twitter anymore because I’ve been very critical of you in this crisis.

“You might want to follow me again now, because if you take my advice, you still have a chance to keep the White House.”

And now Mr Morgan has revealed the President called him tonight saying he “was going to win”.

Mr Morgan tweeted: “I just had a 25 minute phone conversation with President Donald Trump from the White House.

“His last words? “Piers, I will win”. “

The ITV breakfast host added that they were talking about “all kinds of things.”

He added: “The elections, the coronavirus, this week’s debate, Joe Biden, Boris Johnson… and the fraudulent phone calls he had received from people claiming to be me. “

“I got a message: ‘He just read your email and laughed so loudly’. “

About 56.1 million Americans voted early across the country, in person or by mail.

The pace of the vote could result in the highest turnout in more than a century, according to data from the US Elections Project.

Throughout the election campaign, Mr. Biden led Mr. Trump in the polls, with projections for a Democratic victory.

In betting terms, Mr Biden is bookmaker Coral’s 1/2 favorite to win next month’s election.

Despite this, there has been a sharp increase in last-minute betting support for the president.

Bookies Coral found that 75% of the bets they took in the past seven days were on Mr. Trump, which stands at 13/8.

Coral spokesman John Hill said: “Although Donald Trump was the underdog in our bet to win the US presidential election, that did not deter punters from backing him.

“75% of the bets we’ve taken in the past seven days have been for the current president.”

While Mr. Biden leads the opinion pills, the race is much closer to the crucial battlefield of the so-called swing states.
