But Dominic and his wife Catherine Fitzgerald, married for ten years and sharing four children, have come together and said their marriage remains “strong.”
Now sources claim Catherine was “horrified”, but Dominic has vowed to be reconciled with her.
An insider said new! magazine: “It could all be due to a midlife crisis – and that’s what we’re told [Catherine] put it on the account.
“He apparently told Catherine that it wasn’t as bad as the pictures look. He wants to make up for it – it’s embarrassing.
“He loves her and wants to be with her and wants to keep his family together. ”
They share Dora, 14, Senan, 12, Francis, 11, and Christabel, seven, while Dominic also has a 22-year-old daughter, Martha, from a previous relationship.
Dominic and Catherine hit back at rumors their marriage was on the rocks as they made a press statement outside their home in Wiltshire.
They shared a kiss as Catherine was seen holding a handwritten note that read, “Our marriage is strong and we are still together. Thank you. ”
The note was signed at the bottom by both.
Dominic also said: “I just want to say that our marriage is strong and that we are still very much together. ”
It was reported last week that the couple had left the UK and made their way to the Irish castle where they first tied the knot.
The couple own Glin Castle in Limerick, which has been in Catherine’s family for generations and hosted their wedding in 2010.
Meanwhile, Dominic has reportedly been lined up by Netflix for the hit royal series The Crown.
The Sun has reported that he will play Prince Charles as he embarks on his affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles.
